Area Agency on Aging is an agency designated by
the State agency on aging to develop and
administer the area plan for a comprehensive and coordinated
system of services for older persons in a
planning
and service area.
Area agencies on aging (AAA) contract with providers
for the following services: congregate meals, home
delivered meals, homemaker, nutrition counseling, transportation,
legal assistance, nutrition education, information
and assistance and outreach. Additional information
may be obtained by calling the AAA that covers the
area where a service is being requested. Some services
are limited and some areas have waiting list.
