The U.S. Department of Commerce Office of Manufacturing (MFG) manages domestic and international competitiveness issues for U.S. manufacturing companies. The twelve manufacturing industry sector offices (links at top) are staffed by industry specialists who provide a wide range of services, including:

  • developing policy strategies on issues impacting manufacturing competitiveness
  • working with U.S. and foreign government and industry leaders to advocate on international trade policy issues to open new overseas markets and expand opportunities in existing markets
  • enforcing the benefits negotiated under trade agreements and fighting against market-distorting tariff and non-tariff barriers to exports

Jamie P. Estrada serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Manufacturing.
