2008 Oklahoma Emergency Management Conference

Oklahoma Emergency Management Conference, October 7, 8 and 9, 2008, at the Sheraton Midwest City Hotel at the Reed Conference Center, 5750 Will Rogers Road in Midwest City.

OEM will provide the conference registration fee for the first 100 official Oklahoma Emergency Management Directors (or designees) whose registrations are postmarked no later than September 16 or faxed by 5:00 p.m. September 16.  OEM will pay for one room per jurisdiction the nights of Tuesday, October 7 and Wednesday, October 8 for the official emergency management director (or designee).  In accordance with state travel rules, lodging cannot be provided for anyone working/residing within 60 miles of Midwest City.

Damage assessment teams surveyed homes and businesses that flooded when Tropical Depression Lowell moved through the state Sept. 11. OEM, FEMA and Small Business Administration officials teamed up with local emergency managers to complete the damage assessments in Alfalfa, Grant, Kay, Major and Woods counties. Teams are also surveying infrastructure damage delivered by the same storm system in more than 20 Oklahoma counties.
