Governor Receives Word on Approval for Federal Disaster Aid
Today, Governor Ted Strickland received notification from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that federal disaster aid has been made available for Ohio to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area struck by a severe wind storm associated with Tropical Depression Ike on September 14, 2008.

Ohio Achieves National Emergency Management Accreditation
Ohio's system for preparedness and response to disasters was granted full accreditation by the Emergency Management Accreditation Program (EMAP).

Recently Ohio EMA Executive Director Nancy Dragani became the 31st president, and the second president from Ohio, to serve the National Emergency Management Association (NEMA), a non-partisan association dedicated to enhancing public safety.
