Fire Vehicle Driver Orientation
Fire Vehicle Driver Orientation

Statistics have shown that driving is one of the most hazardous activities performed by wildland fire personnel. While not all accidents can be avoided, knowledge of how to safely operate and work around vehicles can significantly reduce the opportunity for accidents and near misses.

The Bureau of Land Management Fire Vehicle Driver Orientation course is designed to provide personnel with the foundation of knowledge to make sound decisions and maintain situational awareness while operating and working around fire vehicles so that everyone comes home safely. While this training is agency specific, it has broad applicability to the wildland fire community.
