Field Attorney Office of the General Counsel

To be considered for an appointment with the NLRB in one of its field offices as either a Field Attorney [§203.4 of the Board's Rules and Regulations] or a Field Examiner [§203.5 of the Board's Rules and Regulations], you must supply all of the information required in OPM Form OF 510, "Applying for a Federal Job," OPM Form OF 306, "Declaration for Federal Employment," as well as the specific

additional information outlined below. You may submit a resume, OPM Form OF 612 "Optional Application for Federal Employment," the previously utilized Form SF 171, or any other written format you choose. [Click here "Application Forms"] If you choose to use an application format other than the OPM Form OF 612 you may find it helpful to use the form as a guide to ensure that all necessary information is available to us as we consider your application for employment.

Submit your application package including the information requested below to the NLRB field office most convenient to you. [List of field offices.] Your application and transcript(s) will be reviewed and you will be advised if an interview is necessary. Field applicants are interviewed in the field office nearest to them, although they may be applying for a position in another field office. The applications of those who merit further consideration are forwarded to Washington where all final hiring determinations are made. The General Counsel approves all appointments of Field Attorneys and Field Examiners.

Please note that you may submit an application to be considered for entry level Field Attorney or Field Examiner positions even though a vacancy announcement has not been posted by submitting your application to the Regional Director of the field office nearest to you.

If you have any questions concerning your application or the requirements for employment with the National Labor Relations Board, please contact the field office nearest to you.
