Scores of Wildfires in Russia's Krasnoyarsk Region

On May 4, southern Siberia was experiencing hundreds of wildfires. These images are from the Krasnoyarsk region in south-central Russia.

On May 6, 2002, the fires in the Krasnoyarsk region of Siberia appear to have become considerably smokier than they were when imaged on May 4. This image was captured by the Moderate-resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA?s Terra satellite.
