The summer months are an excellent time to answer President Bush's call to service and give back to your community.

With most schools closed, many individuals, families, and groups have extra time on their hands. What better way to spend that time than volunteering in your community. Peace Corps' Crisis Corps Program
Reaches Milestone

As Crisis Corps celebrated it's 10th anniversary in June, a volunteer from Michigan became the 1000th Crisis Corps volunteer sent into service.

Since Crisis Corps' inception in 1996, 1000 returned Peace Corps volunteers have taken the opportunity to use their invaluable skills and experience to address ongoing community needs in 42 different countries. Crisis Corps volunteers work on short term projects, utilizing the skills they learned as Peace Corps volunteers and in post service careers.

Volunteers for Prosperity Joins with President's Service Council to Recognize Skilled Volunteers for International Service

The Office of Volunteers for Prosperity at the U.S. Agency for International Development announced it has teamed with the White House to become a Leadership Organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a national program recognizing Americans who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to volunteer service.
