President Bush Honors
500th USA Freedom Corps Greeter

President Bush presented the President’s Volunteer Service Award to the 500th USA Freedom Corps Greeter, David Tompkins, when he arrived in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on May 8.  The USA Freedom Corps Greeter program was created in March 2002 to give President Bush the opportunity to regularly thank community volunteers for making a difference in the lives of others.  President Bush greets these outstanding local volunteers when Air Force One arrives at cities throughout the country.

USA Freedom Corps Director Participates
in Spirit of Community Awards

Desiree T. Sayle, Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of USA Freedom Corps, joined Prudential Chairman Art Ryan in congratulating national honorees at the 2006 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards on May 8 in Washington, DC.  The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards honor young people in middle level and high school grades for outstanding volunteer service to their communities.
