  • HOUSE APPROVES SIGNIFICANT BUDGET INCREASE FOR CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE.  The U.S. House of Representatives this week passed the Omnibus Appropriations bill, bringing the Corporation for National and Community Service a step closer to receiving the largest funding increase in its history. If passed by the Senate, the Omnibus bill would provide $941 million to the Corporation. This bill reflects the President's continued commitment to fostering a culture of citizenship, service, and responsibility in our nation and will enable more Americans answer his Call to Service....

  • DAVID EISNER CONFIRMED AS NEW CEO OF CORPORATION FOR NATIONAL AND COMMUNITY SERVICE.  David Eisner, a former executive at AOL Time Warner and a nationally recognized expert on nonprofit capacity-building and organizational effectiveness, was confirmed by the Senate this week as the next Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation for National and Community Service....

For over 20 years Simmons has been an active volunteer with Boy Scouts of America and Brother Rice High School.
