USA Freedom Corps - The President's Call to Service - Weekly Update

"After I visited Think Detroit, a newspaper reporter asked one of the little boys I'd met what he thought about my visit. And I was moved when I read that he simply said, "I wish she could stay here." Children want us in their lives and children need us in their lives. And as I’ve learned from the remarkable men and women I’ve met here today and across our country, each of us has the power to make the difference in the life of a child."

First Lady Laura Bush
Remarks at the 2005 National Big Brothers /
Big Sisters Conference

Looking For Volunteers?

If you are a non-profit organization, a state or local government office, or a federal agency, you can post your volunteer opportunities with the USA Freedom Corps Volunteer Network. Having your volunteer opportunities has several benefits:

  • Your volunteer opportunities will become part of a larger network that receives considerable exposure that most organizations find difficult to generate on their own;
  • Recruiting volunteers online will extend and complement your current outreach efforts;
  • Millions of individuals interested in responding to the President's call to service can find your opportunities by simply specifying area of interest, zip code or state;
  • Online tracking of matches of individuals with volunteer opportunities can help you with managing and even training volunteers; and
  • It's FREE!

In order have your opportunities become part of the USA Freedom Corps Volunteer Network, you will need to post them with at least one of the Volunteer Network partner organizations listed below. Once you have signed up with one of these organizations and submitted your opportunities through their system, your opportunities are automatically added to the USA Freedom Corps Volunteer Network.

Or, if you are with a state or local government office, or a federal agency, you can signup through Volunteer.gov/gov.
