  • HELPING AMERICA’S YOUTH IS TOPIC OF FIRST LADY’S REMARKS IN DETROIT.  On February 10, 2005, First Lady Laura Bush spoke at an event hosted by local community coaching and mentoring organization “Think Detroit” at the Wigle Community Center in Detroit, Michigan, about helping America’s Youth. “We want all young people to grow up and have the chance to lead successful lives. And we want to show young men particularly an ideal of manhood that respects life and rejects violence. The President has proposed $150 million over the next three years to help young people in some of our toughest neighborhoods. Encouraging children to see beyond a world of hopelessness is part of a national effort to help all young people reach their full potential…."
