Bill Regarding TV Converter Box Coupon Program: To
maximize coupon distribution, NTIA is seeking statutory
flexibility to use, if necessary, available funds from
other programs funded by the DTV Transition and Public
Safety Act to cover administrative costs of the Coupon
Program.

Register Notice: Re-opened Request for Applications
for Spectrum Management Advisory Committee:
NTIA is re-opening its request for applications from
persons interested in serving on the Commerce Spectrum
Management Advisory Committee
(CSMAC) for new two year terms to
commence in December 2008. The evaluation criteria for
selecting members contained in the
August 1, 2008 notice shall continue to
apply.

By “Over-the-Air” Households in TV Converter Box
Coupon Program On Track as Nation Marks Six Months
Until DTV Transition Concludes: NTIA announced
today that nearly 6.4 million "over-the-air" TV
households, those that rely on an antenna for broadcast
TV, have requested about 12 million coupons from the
TV Converter Box Coupon Program. Recent Speeches and Presentations Unlocking Innovation: Has the Key Been Misplaced? Meredith Attwell Baker, Acting Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information, discussed "Unlocking Innovation: Has the Key Been Misplaced?" at the Progress and Freedom Foundation Aspen Summit at the St. Regis Resort, in Aspen, Colorado, on August 17, 2008 Embracing the Future in Telecommunications: Meredith Attwell Baker, Acting Assistant Secretary for Communications and Information, discussed "Embracing the Future in Telecommunications" at the National Association of Regulatory and Utility Commissioners (NARUC) Summer Committee Meetings Commissioners Luncheon at the Hilton Portland and Executive Tower,in Portland, Oregon, on July 22, 2008 Non-Federal License Applications Being Coordinated with NTIA: Non-federal users can now check the status of their spectrum applications going through coordination with NTIA/IRAC (those for federal/non-federal shared bands). Where NTIA/IRAC has completed its response, the applicant should contact the FCC regarding any further action that may be required concerning the NTIA/IRAC response. Commerce
