Chattanooga Airport Announces Nonstop Service to Orlando

The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority announced today that local travelers will be able to fly nonstop to Orlando, Florida beginning this fall. 

The new jet service is scheduled to begin on October 24, 2005.  It will depart daily from Orlando at 12:50 p.m. and arrive in Chattanooga at 2:26 p.m. It will depart Chattanooga at 2:55 p.m. and arrive in Orlando at 4:32 p.m.  The daily service will be operated on a 50-seat regional jet and will open up additional travel options to a number of destinations throughout Florida and the Caribbean.

“Delta’s decision to add this new nonstop jet service to Orlando came as a result of the continued community support that has fueled this airport’s recent growth,” said Mike Landguth, President and CEO of the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority. “Quality air service benefits the entire community and with the strong support of both business and leisure passengers, Chattanooga air service will continue to grow to meet the needs of regional travelers.”

Orlando is the sixth-largest city in Florida, and its largest inland city.  It is home to Walt Disney World Resort, Sea World and the Universal Orlando Resort.  There are also many zoos, museums and art galleries. 

“Our community is thrilled that Delta will be serving our citizens with nonstop air service to Orlando, Florida,” said Chattanooga Mayor Ron Littlefield. “Thanks to the strong partnerships that are being created between our Airport management team and great carriers like Delta, air service out of Chattanooga continues to be expanded and enhanced with  more competitively priced flights – all to the benefit of this entire region.” 

The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport offers 27 daily flights on American Eagle, Continental Express (beginning October 1), Delta Connection Carriers, Northwest Airlink and US Airways Express with nonstop service to Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Memphis, Washington, D.C., Houston (beginning October 1) and Orlando (beginning October 24.)
