Chattanooga Brush Collection and Recycle Wednesdays for Area 4

Pickup for brush and recycling in Area 4 is during the fourth week of each month.  For February in Area 4, brush and leaves will be collected February 26th – March 2nd.  Curbside recyclables will be collected on Wednesday, February 28, 2007.

Area 4 is north of the Tennessee River and west of Highway 153.  This area includes Riverview, North Chattanooga, Stuart Heights, Rivermont, Manchester Park, Lupton City, Fairfax Heights, Forest Highland, Brynwood Park, Galaxy, Norcross, Northwoods, Lake Forest, Moccasin Bend, Pineville Road, Whitehall, Signal Hills, Mountain Creek, Spring Valley, Glendale, Cross Creek, Cloverdale, North Glenn, and Northwoods.

Brush Collection Information
•   Place brush in small piles
•   Put brush on the curb 7 days prior to collection week
•   Do not place brush near utility poles or mailboxes
•   Do not mix brush with other materials
•   Place bagged leaves in separate piles at street side
•   Loose leaves will be collected at a later date

Recycling Collection Information
All recyclables must be placed in blue or clear bags in order to be collected.  The following recyclable items may be placed on the curb for collection each Recycle Wednesday:
•   cardboard
•   newspaper
•   all paper grades (except shredded)
•   plastic #1 and #2 bottles with a neck (look for the triangular recycle symbol on the bottle to determine the plastic number)
•   aluminum cans
•   rinsed out steel cans

Items do not need to be separated, cans do not need to be crushed, pull-tabs do not need to be removed from cans and lids do not need to be removed from plastic bottles and jugs. 

Refuse Collection Centers
Three Refuse Collection Centers are available to allow citizens to dispose of waste at their convenience and at no cost. They are located at:
•   4276 Airport Road
•   4500 North Access Road
•   1400 West 57th Street

No household garbage allowed.  See www.chattanooga.gov for usage details.

Winter Hours
Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Convenience Centers for Recycling
Chattanooga has four convenience centers strategically placed throughout the City to help maximize our recycling capabilities.  At convenience centers, materials that cannot be collected through curbside can be dropped off at any of these convenient locations in order to be recycled.  They are located at:
•   Warner Park Recycle Center: 1250 East Third Street
•   John A. Patten Recreation Center: 3202 Kelly's Ferry Road
•   Access Road at DuPont Parkway: 4500 North Access Road
•   East Brainerd Baseball Complex: end of Batter’s Place Road 

Convenience Center Hours
Monday, Tuesday, Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What to Recycle at Convenience Centers
•   Everything that may be collected through curbside pickup
•   Shredded paper
•   Glass bottles (brown, green and clear)
•   Computers and small electronics (no televisions or microwaves)
