6/1/2006

Tomorrow is the June BIKE2WORK

Bike2Work is the First Friday May 5th-Oct. 6th

Ride Your Bike & Join Us for Free Breakfast and Prizes at Miller Park 7:00-8:30 am!

Choose your own route using our website map or ride with us meeting at:

·    2.5 mile from Coolidge Park - Theater Center Parking Lot (7:00 AM)

·    the River Walk - Fishing Park Entrance (7:00 AM)

·    3.0 mile from Incline Railway – Rear Parking Lot (7:00 AM).

Hop on your bike and ride to Miller Park for a healthy free breakfast then pedal on to work or jump on the bus using CARTA’s Rack-n-Ride bike racks available on any city bus.

A breakfast of Greyfriar’s coffee, muffins, fruit, and bagels from Out-of-the-Blue Café, and Smoothie King Smoothies begins at 7:30 am.

You may also win great gift certificates and/or bicycle accessories courtesy of area businesses and the Bicycle Task Force who want you to get a pat on the back for pedaling to work.

Never ridden before or haven’t been on your bike in years?  We encourage you to ride a short distance with one of our “all skill levels” groups described above.

Riding your bike can improve your health, reduce air pollution and traffic congestion and save you money.   Commuting just one day a week could reduce your gas and parking costs by 20%!   If you need to learn more about routes, parking, how to ride in traffic or other bike related issues, please visit Bike Chattanooga at www.bikechattanooga.org.  If you are an employer and want to learn how to promote bicycling as a preventative health benefit for your employees, please contact local Bicycle Coordinator Phil Pugliese directly at 643-6887.

We hope to see you Friday.
