Report Monday Will Focus on Creating Better Opportunities for Minority Contractors

Chattanooga, TN— Mayor Bob Corker will receive a report and recommendations from the steering committee working on participation of minority contractors in the construction industry on Monday, September 24.

The plan will address specific measures that community organizations will implement to provide better business opportunities for minority contractors.  Included in the meeting will be leaders from The Association of General Contractors, Minority Contractors Association and the Tri-State Carpenter’s Union.

Immediately following the meeting, at approximately 4:15 p.m., Mayor Corker, and representatives from the Construction Industry and African American Chamber of Commerce will conduct a media conference at Bessie Smith Hall to discuss the meeting and details of the report.
