Now is the time to build on 2008's "single up-tick" in wild Atlantic salmon numbers. ASF tracking research is solving the mystery of mortality in freshwater and the ocean. ASF and partners are making progress in saving freshwater habitat, and reducing the impact of dams. But there is an urgent need to address endangered populations of Atlantic salmon in Maine and the Bay of Fundy; for governments to improve salmon conservation measures; and for all of us to join in assuring the future of this key species, the "king of fish".
