The NOAA Office of Global Programs (OGP) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) Division of Atmospheric Sciences are proud to introduce the two outstanding teachers that participated in our EPIC Teacher At Sea Adventure!

The NOAA Office of Global Programs (OGP) and the National Science Foundation (NSF) Division of Atmospheric Sciences supported the placement of two teachers on board the Research Vessel Ronald H. Brown as part of the Eastern Pacific Investigation of Climate
(EPIC http://www.atmos.washington.edu/gcg/EPIC/ and http://www.physics.nmt.edu/raymond/epic2001/epic2001.html).

Both teachers participated in the science being conducted on the ship, wrote weekly lesson plans, maintained a daily log, took photographs, interviewed scientists, participated in videos, and engaged in a dialogue on this special EPIC Teacher At Sea web site.

As well as the shipboard experience, Jane visited our associated aircraft facility in Huatulco, Mexico and flew one mission on board the NSF C-130, and Jennifer spent time conducting more research on the Galapagos Islands.

After returning to San Diego and Alexandria, Jennifer and Jane were both given a warm welcome home from their schools, Guajome Park Academy and Lyles-Crouch Traditional Academy. Jennifer and Jane also were invited to participate in a Welcome Home Reception on Capitol Hill that was sponsored by their local Congressman (Representative Randy "Duke" Cunningham and Representative James P. Moran).
