Scholarships, Fellowships, & Postdoctoral Positions

NIST MSEL Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship—The Materials Science and Engineering Laboratory (MSEL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology offers a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program. This program is designed to provide hands-on research experience in Ceramics, Metallurgy, Polymers, Condensed Matter Science, and Materials Reliability. As part of the MSEL program, opportunities are also available at the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR). Available research opportunities in the MSEL/NCNR program include structural and magnetic properties of nanomaterials.

Intelligence Community Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program—Established in 2000 to fund basic research in areas of interest to the Intelligence Community. Today, the program annually funds first- and second-year postdoctoral fellows researching topics as varied as molecular biology and robotics.

NINDS Medical Student Scholars Program — Awards individual fellowships to eligible individuals to provide research training opportunities for medical students who are preparing for careers in basic or clinical neurological sciences research.

National Cancer Institute Alliance for Nanotechnology in Cancer Funding Opportunities - Research and training opportunities relevant to nanotechnology and cancer. Many opportunities emphasize interdisciplinary research at the interface of the biological and physical sciences including, but not limited to, structural and computational biology, medical and bioinformatics, genomics and proteomics, tissue engineering, single molecule detection, nanotechnology, and imaging techniques.
