NCHPEG’s Board of Directors announces new director

It is a pleasure to introduce NCHPEG’s new Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer, Alan Kinniburgh, Ph.D. Alan has three decades of experience in academic science and medicine. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and performed post-doctoral work at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He was a Professor of Cancer Genetics and founding Director of the Laboratory of Molecular Diagnostics at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in the Buffalo. He has spent the past eight years in leadership roles within the charitable sector as Senior Vice President of Research for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, as CEO of the National Hemophilia Foundation and CEO of a start-up medical charity, Cure Kids USA. Alan has an outstanding track record in forging new relationships, strategic partnerships and soliciting and receiving major gifts. Alan brings a great deal of enthusiasm to this position. I am sure you will join us in welcoming Dr. Kinniburgh.

Welcome to NCHPEG’s new board members: Siobahn Dolan (March of Dimes), Lemmietta McNeilly (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association), and Angela Trepanier (National Society of Genetic Counselors). Katherine Johansen (American Medical Association) and Vicky Whittemore (Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance) were re-elected to the board.

NCHPEG board member, Michael Rackover, was recently awarded the Outstanding Service Award by the Physician Assistant Education Association for his lifetime of service to the physician assistant profession. Read more about the award here.
