The annual Sentinels of Safety award program recognizes achievement of outstanding safety records, to stimulate greater interest in safety and to encourage development of more effective accident prevention programs among the Nation's mineral extractive industries. This program is cosponsored by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and the National Mining Association (NMA). Am I Eligible for this year's Awards? To participate in the 2007 Sentinels of Safety, each Mine Operator MUST return a completed and signed Sentinels of Safety Verification letter. Those letters have already been sent out. If you did not receive a verification letter and your search shows you are eligible please contact us at 303-231-5449 or at sentinelsofsafety@dol.gov.
