Lockeford Plant Materials Center Service area mapThe Lockeford Plant Materials Center in Lockeford, California was established at Pleasanton in 1939 and in 1973 relocated to Lockeford.

The area served by the Lockeford Plant Materials Center is uniquely characterized by having about a six month dry season, and six-month rainy season. It is wet in the winter and dry in the summer. The area has a very complex pattern of 1300 hundred soils. The topography is characterized by broad valleys, rolling foothills, upland plateaus and rugged mountains.

Elevation extremes are from 20 feet below sea level to 14,400 feet above sea level. Agriculture is extremely diversified, including fruits and vegetables, extensive livestock production from native rangeland and timber production.

Getting to the Lockeford PMC

The Lockeford PMC is located in north central California about 40 miles south of Sacramento and 80 miles east of San Francisco. (See the map provided below.)
