Technical Writer/Editor

Job Description
The Technical Editor/Writer at the NIH serves as a technical expert and using extensive subject matter knowledge, writes and edits products that articulate, interpret, and explain complex, potentially controversial, agency policies, programs, and research findings. Major duties of the Technical Editor/Writer include authorizing the clearance of scientific and technical materials for publication; developing and/or making available policies, procedures, and instructions for clearing materials; overseeing contractor performance and coordinating logistical matters with clients and contractors, and conducting extensive research on the subject matter including interviewing and observing subject matter experts, researching journals, on-line sources, and other substantive source material to write scientific and technical materials.
