Joint FDA/FSIS Public Meeting To Discuss Possible Changes to the Regulatory Jurisdiction of Certain Food Products Containing Meat and Poultry

Goal:

• To discuss and solicit information on an approach for providing consistency and predictability with respect to which agency has jurisdiction over certain types of foods products that contain meat and poultry as ingredients.

Target Audience:  Persons who manufacture meat and poultry-containing products and product categories described below:

• "Bagel Dogs"
• Closed-face, traditional sandwiches containing meat and poultry (meat or poultry ingredients  between slices of bread/bun/biscuit)
• Natural casings
• Bread, rolls, and bun products containing meat or poultry for flavor
• Dried poultry soup mixes
• Flavor bases and process-reaction flavors made with meat or poultry
• Traditional pizzas with meat and poultry ingredients as toppings on a crust
• Salad dressings containing meat or poultry ingredients for flavor

Date, Location and Time:   Thursday, December 15, 2005 - 10:00am - 4:00pm CST, Chicago, IL at the Donald E.Stephens Convention Center, 5555 North River Road, Rosemont, IL 60018 near the Chicago O'Hare Airport.
