The Legislative Committees

Items received by the Legislature are sent to one of its seven committees. Items are placed on that committee's agenda for review, discussion and/or approval if necessary.

Following the meeting of the committee, an agenda item - along with the committee's consensus in the form of a vote tally and any amendment - is included on the agenda of the full Legislature for consideration.

COUNTY LEGISLATOR MILLER-WILLIAMS ISSUES COUNTY LEGISLATURE STATEMENT ON FUEL STATUS

This is a media statement from Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams (D-Buffalo, 3rd District), Chair of the Government Affairs Committee, on the county fuel status:

"The Staffs of the Administration, the Office of the Comptroller and the County Legislature have worked in a cooperative manner to resolve the issues surrounding Comm. 19E-16 (2008) Projected Fuel Shortage. "

"An amendment has been drafted to address the concerns raised by several Legislators and it is my hope that when the Government Affairs Committee returns from recess at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, we can address and resolve this matter. I am confident that Erie County will have adequate resources in place to purchase fuel so that we can continue to protect and provide services to the taxpayers of Erie County."
