CONFERENCE RATES AND RESERVATION PROCEDURES
 
     Rate of $72.00 single/double plus tax. All reservations
should be made prior to July 9, 1993. After that date,
reservations will be accepted on a space available basis.
Reservation cards will be included in the Issues Packet mailed in
early June. Reservations may be made by calling the hotel
directly at (703) 761-5111 or 1-800-HILTONS.
 
LOCATION OF THE HOTEL
 
     The hotel is located in the Westpark Business Center at 7920
Jones Branch Drive in McLean, Virginia, 11 miles from the foot of
the Washington Monument. It is served by air at National Airport
in downtown Washington, D.C. or Dulles International in suburban
Virginia. Traffic flow is somewhat less hectic at Dulles
International. Shuttle service from either airport may be
arranged with Boston Coach at $30 each way per car
(1-800-441-5595).
 
FACILITIES ON THE PREMISES
 
     Two restaurants, 2 lounges, a pool and health club with
sauna, gift shop, laundry/valet service are located in-house. A
laundry washer and dryer are located on the second floor and are
complimentary to all in-house guests. The hotel provides
complimentary shuttle service to the Metro train system for
sightseeing in downtown Washington as well as 2 adjacent shopping
malls: Tysons Corner Center (240 shops including Hecht's,
Woodward & Lothrop, and Nordtrom's); The Galleria at Tysons II
(120 shops including Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Neiman
Marcus).
 
ISSC FUNCTIONS
 
     The 1993 opening General Assembly will be held Saturday
afternoon, July 31, 1993 at 4:00 p.m. The ISSC Chairman's
Reception will be held immediately following the opening General
Assembly. Committee meetings will commence at 9:00 a.m. Sunday.
Committee room assignments will be posted.

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION FORM
 
     At the 1992 annual meeting, the Interstate Shellfish
Sanitation Conference modified Article III, Section 4 of its
Constitution to read: There shall be seven classes of membership:
state Agency [a shellfish producing or receiving state which is a
member in good standing of the ISSC], Federal Agency [a federal
agency which participates as a member of the ISSC], Individual
[any government employee, owner, or employee of a shellfish
operation, or any other person interested in shellfish such as
university staff, foundation members and citizens], Industry [any
individual or business entity involved in the growing,
harvesting, processing or shipping of shellfish], Associate [any
business entity not directly involved in shellfish production or
handling, or organizations which maintain a close working
relationship with the ISSC], Foreign Country [any foreign
regulatory agency or business entity shipping shellfish to the
United States whether or not a MOU exists with the United
States], and Student [any person who can present proper
identification as a active student of an accredited college or
university]. All persons who are employees, members, or
associated with any agency, business entity or organization which
has a paid membership shall be considered as members of the ISSC.
A person so covered may also purchase an individual membership.
The annual fee for each category of membership shall be set by
the Executive Board. The annual membership period shall be
January 1 through December 31 of each year. The fiscal year of
the Conference shall be concurrent with the calendar year.
Applications for membership shall be mailed by December 1 each
year to the two previous year's meeting attendees.
 
     The ISSC Executive Board established the membership fees
indicated on the application form. The Board concluded that
certain individuals may qualify for more than one membership
classification. To resolve this situation, the following guidance
policy shall apply.
 
     1. A person seeking membership in the ISSC shall be
considered a member of the organization with which they are most
immediately affiliated. For example: a federal employee will be
covered by the federal agency:membership even though the employee
may also be a member of a professional organization that
possesses a membership.
 
     2. Any controversy regarding classification of membership
will be resolved by the Chairman, the Vice-Chairman and
the Secretary-Treasurer in executive session.
 
     3. Membership fees are payable by check, money order, or
agency payment voucher.
 
     4. Registration fees for the annual meeting are payable in
cash or check at the meeting. Registration fees can be paid by
check, money order or agency voucher.
