September is National Food Safety Education Month, sponsored by the International Food Safety Council, a restaurant and food industry coalition committed to food safety education and training.
(Station), (Department Name) and local food professionals remind you to"Cook It Safely" this month and every day of the year. Use a thermometer to make sure food is cooked to the proper internal temperature - this varies for different types of meat and poultry. When you microwave, be sure to cover, stir and rotate for even cooking. And if you're warming up leftovers, be sure to reheat them to at least 165 degrees.
Remember -"Cook It Safely" is a simple way to keep your family safe.
(If the station agrees to distribute the "Cook It Safely" consumer brochure, mention here - courtesy of the station and your organization.)
