Current Status of Joint Rapporteurs Group 1A-1C-8B
The Joint Rapporteurs Group 1A-1C-8B was superseded by a new group at the June 2007 meeting of ITU-R Working Party 8B. Existing JRG 1A-1C-8B documents will continue to be available on this web site for
archival and reference purposes for an indefinite period of time.
Future ITU-R work on radar unwanted emission levels will henceforth be performed by the newly formed Working Party 8B Radar Unwanted Emissions group. Persons who wish to participate in this group are
encouraged to subscribe to that group's e-mail listserver by logging onto the ITU-R TIES system at:
http://www.itu.int/tiesutils/asp/login.asp
They can then use the links for "account options" and "subscribe/ unscribe to mailing lists" to apply for membership in the new group's e-mail distributions. It is anticipated that meetings of the 8B Radar Unwanted Emissions sub-group will occur in conjunction with future WP-8B meetings. Future ITU-R WP-8B announcements will include information on those meetings.
Past Meeting Overview and Objectives
The meetings of the JRG 1A-1C-8B have the ultimate aim of presenting the views and proposals
of the radar community to the ITU-R for the development of radar related issues in future
ITU-R Administrative Conferences. The major issue before the Joint Rapporteurs Group (JRG) is
the design objectives highlighted in ITU-R Recommendation SM.1541 Annex 8 - Primary radars.
This design objective concerns the possibility of making more stringent the requirement for
radars with regard to the roll-off of out-of-band emissions. This is a significant and
important issue for the world-wide radar community. |
