Banner for the Glass SIC's of the Glass Industry Analysis Brief

The glass industry is segmented into Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes based on the processing of glass and final products generated [OMB 1987]. In 1997, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) reclassified all U.S. industries under a new code - the North American Industry Classification System, or NAICS [OMB 1997]. These new classifications are being used in the 1997 Census of Manufactures conducted by the Department of Commerce and will be used by other Federal agencies that collect data from industry. However, most industry data are currently only available according to SIC codes.
