Chevron officials visit Laboratory

Signing ceremony this morning for joint oil shale project

Cyril Opeil of Materials Technology: Metallurgy (MST-6), explains to Mark Puckett, right, president of Chevron Energy Technology Co., how a photoemission spectrometer operates during a tour Tuesday at Los Alamos. The spectrometer is part of a suite of instruments used by the corrosion and electrochemistry team in MST-6 to study material properties and how they are effected by chemicals and time. Officials from Chevron are at Los Alamos today to sign an agreement for a joint oil shale project with the Laboratory.
