Luncheon recognizes students in SULI program

July 27, 2005

Don Rej, right, acting program director for the Laboratory's Office of Science, talks with Samuel Skillman, left, of Theoretical Astrophysics (T-6) and Adam Light of Plasma Physics (P-24) at a Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internship luncheon at the Canyon Complex. Seven students are in the SULI program, a joint partnership between the Laboratory's Education Programs Office (STB-EPO) and the Department of Energy's Office of Science. Skillman attends Harvey Mudd college where he majors in physics, while Light, a Los Alamos High School graduate, recently graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a degree in physics. SULI places students in paid internships in science and engineering at 14 DOE facilities across the country. The Lab received $48,000 from DOE for this summer's program.
