The mountain as metaphor

By Public Affairs Office

May 27, 2004

Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson talks about his ascent of Mount Everest on Monday during the Associate Director for Administration (ADA) directorate leadership retreat in Santa Fe. Johnson's talk focused on how goal-setting, strategy-execution, perseverance and sometimes a bit of luck are required to accomplish great things in life.

After the talk, Bill Wadt, director of the newly created Prime Contract (PCO) Office, talked with Johnson. The retreat allowed ADA leaders to take stock of its current state and focus on its future direction. Photos by James E. Rickman, Public Affairs
