Memo discusses changes to KSL's work scope

May 13, 2008

Some changes are being made to on-site maintenance subcontracting work performed at the Laboratory by KSL Services. Changes are discussed in a May 5 master management memo.

According to the memo, the majority of work KSL Services now does will be done by the Laboratory. The transition will be completed by the end of the year.

Many KSL Services personnel will be offered employment with Los Alamos National Security, LLC during this transition, according to the memo.

KSL Services has been the Laboratory's site services subcontractor since 2003. KSL provides facilities maintenance and repair, utility operations, roads and grounds maintenance, waste removal, and custodial services for the Laboratory.

Last year, 79 KSL Services employees became Los Alamos National Security, LLC employees as part of a transition of work-control operations to the Laboratory. See the March 12, 2007 Daily NewsBulletin for more information.
