Sponsored by Lab

How persons with disabilities can be part of a winning team in the workplace is the focus of a panel discussion today at the Laboratory.

The Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity (HR-OEOD) and the Deaf and Disabilities Awareness Group are sponsoring the panel discussion at 11:30 this morning in the Otowi Building cafeteria side rooms as part of the Lab's observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Jackie Leeches of Occupational Medicine (OM) and David Rudolph of HR-OEOD, along with Jim Salas of the New Mexico Commission for the Blind, John Block of the Governor's Commission for Disabled, and Thomas Dillon of the New Mexico Commission for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons make up the panel for "Workers with Disabilities: Talent for a Winning Team."

"Persons with disabilities make positive contributions every day and should be welcomed as an integral member of workplace teams," said HR-OEOD Director Amy Sahota. "This discussion will explore ways in which persons with disabilities can continue to make a difference to the overall success of the team and their employer."

The talk is open to all Laboratory workers, and the first 15 employees who attend will receive a door prize.

A light lunch will be served.
