Promoting business opportunities for local firms
Northern New Mexico small businesses can learn about upcoming opportunities to provide goods and services to the Laboratory by attending the New Mexico Small Business Supplier Forum Friday (August 10) at the Lodge at Santa Fe on North St. Francis Drive.
Acquisition Services Management (ASM) Division, the Northern New Mexico Supplier Alliance, and the New Mexico 8(a) & Minority-Owned Business Association are hosting the forum from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
New Mexico Congressman Tom Udall will give the keynote address on Friday morning. Afterward, local businesses interested in doing business with the Laboratory can meet Laboratory buyers, other potential suppliers, and learn about upcoming procurement opportunities at Los Alamos, said Dennis Roybal, Los Alamos’s Small Business Program manager.
Featured workshops are: New Laboratory Business Requirements and How To Do Business With the Laboratory; The Space Alliance Technology Outreach Program (SATOP); the New Mexico Small Business Assistance Act; The Facts about the Central Contractors Register; HUBZone, 8(a), Small Disadvantaged Business certifications; and Strategies to Build Business Capacity.
“These are well designed workshops that will provide relevant information to a small business that is interested in building business capacity and becoming a sustainable small business capable of competing for work at Los Alamos as well as nationally,” said Roybal.
Registration is $35 for participating businesses. There will be a continental breakfast and lunch provided.
