Drug, Dose & Schedule Recommendations for Antiemetic Regimens

This two-page table is derived from recommendations in the 2006 update of the American Society of Clinical Oncology'sĀ guideline for the use of antiemetics in oncology. It provides detailed drug, dose, and schedule recommendations for antiemetic regimens based on the level of emetic risk and whether emesis was chemotherapy induced or radiation induced. Recommendations are also provided for the following situations:

  • Combination chemotherapy
  • Multiple consecutive days of chemotherapy
  • Anticipatory emesis
  • Emesis in pediatric oncology patients
  • High-dose chemotherapy
  • Vomiting and nausea despite recommended prophylaxis
