ICE Agents Arrest 18 Illegal Aliens

September 3, 2008 (Arcata, Calif.) - ICE special agents executed a federal search warrant at the local headquarters of one of the state's major wholesale flower growers, The Sun Valley Group, arresting 18 illegal alien workers on administrative immigration violations. One worker, who had an extensive criminal record, was turned over to the sheriff's department based on an outstanding warrant. More at ICE.gov

ICE Agents Arrest 25 Criminal Aliens and Gang Members

September 3, 2008 (Ft. Myers, Fla.) - ICE agents in Fort Myers and sheriff's deputies arrested 25 criminal aliens and documented street gang members following a two-day enforcement operation targeting criminal aliens and street gang members in the Naples area. More at ICE.gov

ICE Team Arrests 130 in New York

August 26, 2008 (New York) - Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced its four New York Fugitive Operations Teams arrested a total of 120 fugitive aliens during a nearly two-week long operation. Of the 120 fugitives arrested, 35 had criminal records. During the operation, an additional 10 immigration violators were arrested, six of whom had criminal histories. Criminal histories of the aliens included convictions for drugs, assault, bank fraud, bribery, burglary, robbery and prostitution. More at ICE.gov

ICE Agents Arrest 595 in Mississippi Facility

August 26, 2008 (Laurel, Miss.) - Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) special agents arrested 595 illegal aliens from eight countries at a manufacturing facility for crimes including aggravated identity theft and fraudulent use of Social Security numbers. Eight criminal cases focused on charges of aggravated identity theft have been accepted for prosecution. The other cases are being handled by administrative law procedures. More at ICE.gov

46 Illegal Aliens Caught in Arizona

August 25, 2008 (Tucson, Ariz.) - Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended a group of 46 illegal aliens near Naco, Ariz. The illegal aliens were taken into custody and processed for removal from the United States. More at CBP.gov

Coast Guard, CBP Agents Repatriate 22, Detain 10 Dominicans

August 25, 2008 (San Juan, Puerto Rico) - Coast Guard cutter personnel and U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents discovered 32 Dominicans traveling illegally from the Dominican Republic to Puerto Rico aboard a migrant boat. The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Key Largo repatriated 22 of the Dominican migrants to La Romana, Dominican Republic, following an at-sea interdiction by Department of Homeland Security law enforcement authorities, while the 10 other Dominican migrants were brought ashore for prosecution.  More at USCG.mil

CBP Agents Arrest More than 60 Illegal Aliens in Arizona

August 18, 2008 (Tucson, Ariz.) - Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended a group of 62 illegal aliens near Naco, Ariz. The illegal aliens were taken into custody and processed for removal from the United States. Fifty-five subjects were processed under the Mexican Interior Repatriation Program. More at CBP.gov

42 Arrested in ICE-led Operation in Salt Lake City

August 18, 2008 (Salt Lake City) - ICE agents arrested 42 male gang members or gang associates. Of those, 22 will face criminal charges before being processed for deportation. Ten are being prosecuted federally for re-entry after deportation, one is being charged federally with illegal possession of a firearm, and 11 will face state-related charges for drug offenses, including burglary, domestic violence, assault with a deadly weapon, and violation of a gang injunction. 50 Arrested in Minnesota During ICE-led Operation

August 14, 2008 (Bloomington, Minn.) - ICE agents, in partnership with local, state and federal law enforcement officers, arrested 50 gang members, gang associates and immigration violators in the greater Twin Cities area. Of the 50 arrested, 35 are gang members, seven are gang associates and 37 are illegal aliens. Twelve of those arrested had previous convictions. More at ICE.gov

ICE Arrests 42 Illegal Aliens at Airport

August 13, 2008 (Washington) - ICE agents arrested 42 men illegally present in the country at Dulles International Airport. ICE agents arrested the illegal aliens just inside the airport grounds at a checkpoint established to verify the identity and immigration status of workers entering a service gate. The arrests were part of a critical infrastructure protection operation. More at ICE.gov

ICE Teams Arrest 119 Fugitive Aliens

August 13, 2008 (Philadelphia) - ICE's local fugitive operations teams arrested a total of 119 fugitive aliens during the 10-day operation in Pennsylvania and Delaware. Of the 75 fugitives arrested, 26 had criminal records. During the operation an additional 44 immigration violators were arrested, 12 of whom had criminal histories. More at ICE.gov

ICE Arrests 57 Illegal Aliens in Asheville, N.C.

August 13, 2008 (Washington) - Fifty-seven illegal aliens working at Mills Manufacturing Corporation, a Department of Defense contractor, were arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) special agents. The arrests were based on an ICE critical infrastructure investigation that revealed that the illegal aliens had used fraudulent social security numbers to obtain employment. More at ICE.gov

ICE-Led Operation Arrests 80 in Massachusetts

August 8, 2008 (Boston) - ICE agents, together with federal, state and local law enforcement partners across Massachusetts, have arrested 52 gang members and associates from 24 different gangs and 28 other criminals. The four-day operation yielded arrests of 55 U.S. permanent residents who may be removable from the U.S. based upon their criminal history, 14 who were illegally residing in the U.S., two who are wanted on warrants of deportation, and three others who have re-entered the U.S. illegally after having been deported. ICE Agents Arrest 54 Miami Area Criminals

August 8, 2008 (Miami) - In the Miami area, 54 criminals were arrested following a targeted enforcement operation headed by ICE special agents. Approximately 29 of those arrested are lawful permanent residents, while the remainder are immigration violators. All will go before an immigration judge. More at ICE.gov

ICE Agents Arrest 321

August 7, 2008 (Miami) - ICE agents, with federal agencies and local law enforcement officers, arrested 321 people from 12 countries in an operation targeting trans-national and violent criminal street gangs in South Florida. The enforcement operation included the arrest of 59 transnational gang members and associates. More at ICE.gov

ICE Team Arrest More than 60 in 5-Day Florida Operation

August 4, 2008 (Ft. Myers, Fla.) -  A five-day law enforcement operation carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Florida Fugitive operations teams and local sheriffs' offices resulted in arrests of 55 fugitives and 7 immigration violators. Fifteen of those arrested had criminal histories that spanned from aggravated assault, battery, DUI, DUI hit and run, resisting officer without violence, burglary, weapons offenses, cocaine possession and larceny. Coast Guard, CBP Officers Interdict 20 Migrants Off San Diego

July 31, 2008 (San Diego, Calif.) - Coast Guard and CBP officers apprehended 20 Mexican migrants who attempted to enter the U.S. by boat. More at USCG.mil

ICE Agents Arrest 13 in Little Rock

July 28, 2008 (Little Rock, Ark.) - Thirteen illegal aliens working in North Little Rock were arrested by ICE special agents who executed federal arrest warrants at the site. The agents had identified document fraud and misuse of Social Security cards. Ten aliens were from Guatemala and three from Mexico.  More at ICE.gov

ICE Agents Arrest 58 in Ohio

July 23, 2008 (Cleveland, Ohio) - Special agents with ICE administratively arrested 58 restaurant employees on immigration violations after executing federal search warrants at eight restaurants throughout northern Ohio. All arrested are citizens of Mexico. More at ICE.gov

Coast Guard Repatriates 107 Haitian Migrants

July 22, 2008 (Miami, Fla.) - The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Vigilant repatriated 107 Haitian migrants to Cap Haitien, Haiti. More at USCG.mil

ICE Agents Arrest 81 in San Diego

July 22, 2008 (San Diego, Calif.) - ICE agents arrested 38 gang members or gang associates and 43 criminal aliens in the greater San Diego area. Of those, 6 were charged in federal court for felony re-entry after deportation. The five men and one woman, all Mexican nationals, were previously deported criminals with prior convictions for drug offenses and violent crimes. More at ICE.gov

ICE Agents Arrest 49 in Chicago

July 18, 2008 (Chicago, Ill.) - ICE agents in close partnership with local law enforcement officers made 49 arrests in a four-day operation targeting illegal aliens with ties to violent street gangs in Chicago's northern and northwest suburbs. Of the 49 arrested, 48 are Mexican nationals and one is from Guatemala. All are illegal aliens with the exception of one U.S. permanent resident whose criminal convictions make him eligible for deportation. More at ICE.gov

CBP Agents Arrest 31 After Vehicle Stop in Tucson

July 18, 2008 (Tucson, Ariz.) - Border Patrol agents conducted a vehicle stop that led to the arrest of 31 illegal aliens being held in various rooms at a motel. All five passengers in the vehicle were illegal aliens. The resulting investigation stop revealed more illegal aliens being staged for transportation at a motel.  More at CBP.gov

ICE Agents Arrest 45 in Tulsa Area

July 17, 2008 (Tulsa, Okla.) - ICE agents and local law enforcement officers arrested 45 gang members, gang associates and immigration violators during a six-day local effort. Fifteen of those arrested are transnational gang members who are aliens and will be processed for deportation following any pending criminal charges against them. Thirteen of those arrested have no known gang affiliation but are deportable due to their criminal convictions or because they are in the U.S. illegally. Another 17 U.S. citizen gang members were also arrested on state warrants or criminal charges during the operation. More at ICE.gov

CBP Agents Process 235 Immigration Violations

July 17, 2008 (San Ysidro, Calif.) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the San Ysidro and adjacent Otay Mesa passenger ports of entry detained eight people with outstanding felony arrest warrants and processed 235 immigration violations. More at CBP.gov

ICE Agents Arrest 18 Illegal Aliens in Colorado

July 16, 2008 (Loveland, Colo.) - ICE agents arrested 18 illegal aliens at a concrete plant. The 18 men were administratively arrested for being in the United States illegally. One man is from El Salvador, while the rest are from Mexico. More at ICE.gov

Coast Guard, CBP Intercept Smuggling Boat

July 14, 2008 (San Diego, Calif.) - Coast Guard Sector San Diego notified U.S. Customs and Border Protection marine interdiction and border patrol agents so they could intercept Mexican motor-powered vessel and detained nine undocumented Mexican nationals upon landing at Imperial Beach. ICE Teams Arrest 24 Illegal Aliens in Nashville

July 9, 2008 (Nashville, Tenn.) - Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested 24 immigration fugitives and violators during a five-day operation carried out by deportation officers assigned to the ICE New Orleans and Memphis Fugitive Operations Teams. Of those arrested, 22 were immigration fugitives. ICE officers also arrested one individual who illegally re-entered the U.S. after having been previously removed and one non-fugitive criminal alien who allegedly is a member of La Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13). Arizona Border Patrol Agents Apprehend 27 Aliens

July 3, 2008 (Laredo, Tex.) - Border Patrol agents from the Laredo North station detained 27 undocumented aliens after interdicting a smuggling attempt. After a service canine indicated the presence of people or contraband, agents opened a sealed tractor trailer to discover 27 people standing shoulder-to-shoulder in a narrow aisle between the cargo boxes. All of the people were undocumented aliens. More at CBP.gov

ICE Arrests 32 in Puget Sound Area

June 26, 2008 (Arlington, Wash.) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents executed a federal civil search warrant at an aircraft manufacturing plant, arresting 32 of the company's workers on administrative immigration violations. More at ICE.gov

ICE Fugitive Operations Team Arrests 48

June 26, 2008 (Garden City, Kan.) – A local team of Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers arrested 48 criminal, fugitive aliens and immigration violators in western Kansas as part of a five-day operation. Thirty-six of those arrested had previous criminal convictions, and are from El Salvador, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Vietnam. More at ICE.gov

June 25, 2008 (Milwaukee, Wis.) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Fugitive Operations Team arrested 38 fugitive aliens and immigration violators in southeast Wisconsin area. Sixteen of those arrested were fugitives; 22 were immigration violators encountered by ICE officers during their targeted arrests. ICE Fugitive Operations Team Arrests 44 Absconders

June 25, 2008 (Omaha, Neb.) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Fugitive Operations Team arrested 44 fugitive aliens and immigration violators in central Nebraska. Twenty-eight of those arrested were fugitives; 16 were immigration violators encountered by ICE officers during their targeted arrests. June 25, 2008 (Chicago, Ill.) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Fugitive Operations Teams arrested 43 fugitive aliens and immigration violators in the Chicago metropolitan area. Twenty-five of those arrested were fugitives; 18 were immigration violators encountered by ICE officers during their targeted arrests. June 12, 2008 (Providence, R.I.) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 42 immigration fugitives and immigration violators during a law enforcement operation carried out by deportation officers assigned to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Rhode Island Fugitive Operations Team. Of those arrested, 21 are immigration fugitives. More than 900 Arrested in ICE California Surge

May 23, 2008 (Los Angeles, Calif.) - More than 900 criminal aliens, immigration fugitives and immigration violators have been removed from the United States or are facing deportation following a three-week enforcement surge by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Fugitive Operations Teams in California. ICE officers located and arrested a total of 905 immigration violators throughout the state, including 327 in the greater Los Angeles area. Of those arrested locally, 244 were immigration fugitives. ICE Operation Nets More Than 39 Arrests in Phoenix Area

May 16, 2008 (Phoenix, Ariz.) - More than 35 criminal aliens, immigration fugitives, and immigration violators have been removed from the United States or are facing deportation. Of those taken into custody, 21 were immigration fugitives, aliens who have ignored final orders of deportation or who returned to the United States illegally after being removed. Seven of those arrested had criminal histories in addition to being in the country illegally. The majority of the immigration violators arrested during the special operation were from Mexico, but the group also included foreign nationals from Honduras and El Salvador. Since many of these individuals have already been through immigration proceedings, they are subject to immediate removal from the country. More at ICE.gov

Coast Guard Repatriates More than 70 Cuban Migrants

May 16, 2008 (Miami, Fla.) - The Coast Guard Cutter Key Biscayne repatriated more than 70 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba who were interdicted in two separate events as a result of CBP Air and Marine efforts. More at CBP.gov

ICE's Iowa Operation Largest Criminal Worksite Enforcement Operation

May 15, 2008 (Waterloo, Iowa) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) conducted the investigation and made the arrests of 306 people at Agriprocessors Inc., in Postville, Iowa. Charges in complaints vary by individual and include allegations of aggravated identity theft, falsely using a Social Security number, illegally reentering the United States after being deported, and fraudulently using an alien registration card. ICE Agents Arrest 80 in Florida Marriage Fraud Scheme

May 9, 2008 (Orlando, Fla.) - More than 80 individuals involved in various marriage fraud conspiracies throughout Florida were arrested this week following a joint investigation by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). ICE Agents Arrest More than 300 Poultry Processing Employees

April 17, 2008 (Dallas, Tex.) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents arrested more than 300 foreign national workers at Pilgrim's Pride plants in five states who are suspected of committing identity theft and other criminal violations in order to obtain their jobs. More at ICE.gov

ICE Arrests 11 for Harboring, Detains 45 Illegal Aliens

April 16, 2008 (Buffalo, N.Y.) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agents detained 45 illegal aliens at 10 different sites and arrested 11 individuals for conspiring to harbor illegal aliens who were smuggled into the United States to work in Mexican restaurants in four states. This operation involved approximately 130 ICE agents and 30 state and local law enforcement officers and began in May 2006. April 12, 2008 (Miami, Fla.) - The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Key Biscayne repatriated 12 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabanas, Cuba. More at USCG.mil

ICE Arrests 59 Illegal Workers at Luxury Resort

April 8, 2008 (Washington, D.C.) -U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents interviewed roughly 100 employees at a resort in Leesburg, Va. Agents arrested 53 immigration status violators and another six where apprehended outside the facility. The 59 men and woman are nationals of El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Honduras, Bolivia, Peru and Argentina. All face removal proceedings. More at ICE.gov

ICE Operation Nets Over 300 Arrests

April 7, 2008 (Miami, Fla.) - More than 330 immigration fugitives and violators were arrested following a two-week targeted enforcement action carried out by deportation officers assigned to the ICE's Miami Fugitive Operations Team. ICE deportation officers located and arrested 332 immigration violators: 147 in Miami-Dade, 104 in Broward and 81 in Palm Beach counties. Of those arrested, 300 were immigration fugitives, aliens who have ignored final orders of deportation. Coast Guard Interdicts, Repatriates 20 Cuban Migrants

April 4, 2008 (Miami, Fla.) - The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Drummond repatriated 20 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cabañas, Cuba. The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Confidence had interdicted a go-fast vessel carrying the migrants and two suspected smugglers 45 miles south of Key West.More at USCG.mil

Border Patrol Agents Arrest Criminal Aliens

March 31, 2008 (El Paso, Tex.) - Border Patrol agents assigned to the El Paso station arrested two men with lengthy criminal histories in two separate incidents after they attempted to illegally enter the United States. More at CBP.gov

Coast Guard Interdicts 11 Migrants Off of San Diego

March 22, 2008 (San Diego, Calif.) - Eleven Mexican migrants were apprehended by Coast Guard officers as they tried to illegally enter the United States by boat. More at USCG.mil

ICE Investigation Leads to Sentencing of 20 Mexican Aliens

March 17, 2008 (Davenport, Iowa) - Two illegal aliens, the last of 20 others formerly employed by a West Burlington, Iowa, concrete company, were sentenced on immigration, identity-theft and document-fraud charges. All 20 of the aliens are from Mexico. More at ICE.gov

Jamaican Deportee Sentenced to 60 Months' Imprisonment

March 12, 2008 (Miami) - A Jamaican national with an extensive criminal history was sentenced to 60 months' imprisonment for illegally re-entering the country after being deported by ICE deportation officers. More at ICE.gov

ICE Arrests Two Men for Smuggling 30 in a U-Haul Van

March 7, 2008 (Las Cruces, N.M.) - A U.S. federal magistrate ordered two Mexican men detained with no bond after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) special agents arrested them in connection with unlawfully transporting 30 illegal aliens inside a U-Haul van. All 30 illegal aliens were Mexican nationals. More at ICE.gov

Coast Guard Repatriates 40 to La Romana

March 5, 2008 (San Juan, Puerto Rico)  - The crew of Coast Guard Cutter Matinicus repatriated 32 Dominicans, seven Ecuadorians and one Haitian migrant to La Romana, Dominican Republic, following an at-sea interdiction. Coast Guard law enforcement personnel detained two Dominicans, of the 42 migrants aboard the interdicted yola, for attempting to enter illegally into the United States or a U.S. Territory on four different occasions. The U.S. Attorney's Office in Puerto Rico accepted both illegal migrant cases for prosecution. ICE Dismantles Human Smuggling Scheme, 6 in Custody

February 28, 2008 (Los Angeles) - Six suspects are in custody facing federal criminal charges after ICE agents executed a series of search and arrest warrants targeting a large-scale criminal organization suspected of smuggling several hundred illegal aliens a month into the Los Angeles area.  More at ICE.gov

Coast Guard Interdicts, Repatriates 30 Cuban Migrants

Border Patrol Agents Rescue 10 Aliens in Cargo Trailer

February 27, 2008 (Laredo, Tex.) - Border Patrol agents assigned to the Laredo North station rescued 10 illegal aliens from a smuggling attempt. The driver and the aliens were turned over to ICE agents. More at CBP.gov

ICE Fugitive Operations Team Arrests 225 in 4-Day Great Lakes Operation

February 26, 2008 (Detroit, Mich.)  - An ICE Fugitive Operations Team, a local team of officers that track down criminal and fugitive aliens, arrested 225 aliens as part of a four-day, six-state operation. More at ICE.gov

ICE Shuts Down Fraudulent Documents Operation

February 26, 2008 (Wilmington, Del.) - Working with local and state agencies, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement  has arrested a Mexican national on federal charges that he was producing and misusing immigration documents. The investigation was sparked when the Delaware State Police became suspicious of a package, leading to the discovery of approximately 200 suspected fraudulent I-551 resident alien cards (so-called green cards). ICE Detains 2 Illegal Aliens During Multi-Agency Law Enforcement Operation

February 23, 2008 (Port Arthur, Tex.) - Two illegal aliens were detained by ICE agents during a multi-agency joint maritime operation conducted in the Sabine-Neches River and Intracoastal Waterway. Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Port Arthur, along with other federal, state and local enforcement agencies, conducted safety and security boarding operations with 11 law enforcement boats from High Island, Texas through the Intracoastal Waterway in Louisiana. ICE Teams Arrest, Deport More than 100 Deportable Criminals in Phoenix

February 14, 2008 (Phoenix, Ariz.) - More than 110 foreign-born criminals have been arrested and now face deportation as a result of a new operation involving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office and Maricopa County Adult Probation. Targets include illegal aliens with felony criminal records, as well as legal permanent U.S. residents whose criminal convictions make them subject to deportation. Fugitive Operations Teams Record 150 Arrests in January

Border Patrol Agents Find Felony Suspect

February 7, 2008 (Kingsville, Tex.) - Rio Grande Valley, Texas Border Patrol agents were checking a train near the Sarita, Texas checkpoint and found four subjects on a northbound freight train. All subjects were found to be citizens and nationals of Honduras illegally present in the United States. Coast Guard Interdicts, Repatriates 131 Haitian Migrants

February 4, 2008 (Miami) - The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Valiant repatriated 131 Haitian migrants to Port-au-Prince, Haiti.While conducting a law enforcement patrol, the Valiant's crew located a Haitian sail-freighter. Crewmembers launched the ship's two small boats, safely transported the migrants to the Valiant and destroyed the Haitian sail-freighter as a hazard to navigation. More at USCG.mil

Coast Guard Interdicts, Repatriates 23 Cuban Migrants

January 24, 2008 (Miami) - The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Cobia repatriated 26 Cuban migrants to Bahia de Cubañas, Cuba in two separate events. A cruise ship had located a rustic vessel and a Customs and Border Protection aircraft on patrol remained on scene until the Cutter Valiant could embark the 23 Cuban migrants. Three of these migrants are pending further transfer to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. CBP Officers Uncover More than 120 Violations

January 22, 2008 (El Paso, Texas) - U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers performing anti-terror inspections at ports of entry in El Paso, West Texas and New Mexico identified 122 immigration violations this week, a significant increase from the 96 violations recorded last week. CBP officers also discovered prohibited agricultural items, uncovered numerous drug smuggling attempts, and identified other violations during the previous seven days. ICE Removes 107 Individuals

January 16, 2008 (Niagara Falls, N.Y.) - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement deported 94 Nigerian nationals yesterday, 55 of whom had criminal histories: sex crimes, assault, cruelty to a child, drug convictions, embezzlement, forgery, fraud and counterfeiting.
