Sixth-annual Concerts at Marymoor Series features veteran talent, up-and-coming stars

Tickets on sale Saturday; Erykah Badu, The Roots kick off summer line-up June 5

After first five years of hosting a summer concert series, King County’s Marymoor Park has proven to be one of the region’s most popular and acclaimed outdoor venues for all types of entertainment.

“Our 2008 summer concert series continues to broaden its musical scope, with top-notch acts to please just about anyone’s musical tastes,” said King County Parks Director Kevin Brown.

Opening the series this year is American soul and R&B star Erykah Badu, who appears on Marymoor’s amphitheatre stage with the Roots on Wednesday, June 5. The following week, on June 14, Marymoor welcomes Seattle radio station KNDD’s “The End’s Summer Camp II,” with artists Flogging Molly, Pennywise, Nada Surf, MGMT, Armor for Sleep and Flobots.

Great acts follow deep into the summer, including comedian Brian Regan, ‘70s rock legends Boston and Styx, Sub Pop Records’ 20th anniversary celebration, the legendary Willie Nelson and more.

Tickets are available beginning Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Marymoor Park business office, or online at http://www.concertsatmarymoor.com/ (external link).  The Marymoor Park business office will continue selling concert tickets Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The Marymoor amphitheatre is recognized as a top-notch concert venue, with an intimate and comfortable layout, excellent food and beverage vendors and parking that’s close and affordable,” Brown said.
