Say ‘I Do’ at one of King County Parks’ scenic wedding ceremony locations

‘Summer of Love’ contest winners will get free site use on that special day

If you’re planning an outdoor wedding this year, why not check out one of the several beautiful venues that are available through King County Parks?

Featuring scenic overlooks of rushing rivers and forests with top-notch facilities at a reasonable price, King County Parks offers fantastic settings for wedding ceremonies that are close to home and won’t break your budget.

As a way of introducing their new wedding locations to future brides and grooms, King County Parks is sponsoring a “Summer of Love” contest.

“King County Parks offers great wedding locations that highlight the unique natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest,” said Parks Director Kevin Brown.

To win, all you have to do is fill out the entry form at http://www.metrokc.gov/parks/rentals/summeroflove.html and identify which one of the five sites you would like for your wedding. One winner will be chosen for each of the five sites and will get their rental facilities fee waived, and one lucky couple will win the grand prize of a free, two-night stay at the beautiful Redmond Inn.

Couples must enter by July 20, and the drawing will be held July 21.

Wedding sites include:

• Cougar Mountain Overlook, with sweeping views of the forested Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park;

• Two sites at Tolt-MacDonald Park in Carnation, including the colorful Tolt Barn and a new Riverside Bridge Shelter that’s perfect for hosting an event;

• Duthie Hill House near Issaquah, which offers a quiet forest retreat that’s close to the bustling Sammamish Plateau; and

• The historic Preston Community Center, which features whole log construction, a gorgeous fireplace and a small park.

While not part of the “Summer of Love” contest, the historic Clise Mansion in King County’s Marymoor Park, also hosts wedding ceremonies. Set in the heart of the historic Willowmoor Farm in Marymoor Park, Clise Mansion can accommodate parties of up to 500 guests. Details on the Clise Mansion are available at http://www.metrokc.gov/Parks/marymoor/.
