Shop Bellevue, Redmond Whole Foods Markets Aug. 28 and support King County Parks

When you shop at Whole Foods Market stores at Bellevue and Redmond on Thursday, Aug. 28, you’ll not only be shopping at the world’s largest retailer of natural and organic foods, but you’re also supporting King County Parks – Your Big Backyard.

This Thursday, Whole Foods Market will donate 5 percent of sales from their Bellevue and Redmond stores to the King County Parks Legacy Fund. The donation will help King County Parks continue to be a nationally acclaimed provider of amenities and recreational facilities for the community.

“This is a great partnership for King County Parks,” said Parks Division Director Kevin Brown. “We are committed to providing the kinds of amenities where families can come together for exercise, recreation and fun, and the generosity of Whole Foods Market will help us fulfill that commitment.”

“Whole Foods Market loves supporting our community and King County Parks truly represents the quality of life that makes the area one of the most livable in the world,” said Whole Foods Market’s Mary Moon Hernandez. “Whole Foods Market is thrilled to support King County’s vast parklands, open spaces and trails with this 5 Percent Day.”

The Bellevue Whole Foods Market is at 888 116th Ave NE; the Redmond Whole Foods Market is at 17991 Redmond Way, near King County’s Marymoor Park.

Whole Foods Market’s donation benefits the King County Parks Legacy Fund, which is being developed to provide a long-term safety net for parks and open space in King County.

The King County Parks Legacy accepts donations via the Northwest Parks Foundation, and gifts help support parks and open space in King County. Gifts, bequests and donations from individuals, and businesses are a great way to leave a legacy that impacts our region's future.

Gifts that preserve open space, provide new amenities or ensure ongoing support for a specific facility or program are tangible ways of making a difference now and in the future. All gifts are used only for parks purposes.

King County Parks – Your Big Backyard - offers more than 25,000 acres of parks and natural lands, including such regional treasures as Marymoor Park and Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park, 175 miles of regional trails, plus pools and a world-class aquatic center.
