Metro Transit will continue to provide premium Park and Ride transit service for the rest of the Mariners home games for the 2008 season.
For $3.00 each way, eliminate driving and parking hassles on trips to and from Safeco Field. See the links below for complete information about transit service to and from Mariners games.

Regularly scheduled service to/from Safeco Field
Ride regularly scheduled transit service:
- To all Weekday Mariners games.
- To and from Weekday games that start prior to 5:00 PM.
- When premium P&R service is not applicable to your trip.
In addition:
All regularly scheduled Metro and Sound Transit Express regional bus service - including Sounder commuter rail - that travels into or out of downtown Seattle via 1st Avenue S, 4th Avenue S, the Metro Busway, 6th Avenue S or S Jackson Street, goes to within walking distance of Safeco Field.

Note: the Trip Planner does not provide information about the Premium P&R service or details about regular service that is being rerouted. Special P&R service is described below. Game-Day Reroutes of Regular Service
During weekday games that start after 5:00 PM, and during all Saturday and Sunday and holiday games, regular Metro and Sound Transit Regional Express bus service that is normally scheduled to operate via 1st Avenue S and 4th Avenue S is rerouted 90 minutes after the start of the game to operate instead via the SODO Busway and Airport Way S in both directions between the Safeco Field area and downtown Seattle.
See information about the 1st Avenue Shuttle that operates during these times.
Buses return to normal operation as soon as post-game traffic clears.
Buses are not rerouted for weekday games that are scheduled to start prior to 5:00 PM. On those days, expect heavy traffic and significant delays for transit and all traffic in the SODO and downtown areas.

Post-game:
- Premium P&R service returns directly to designated Park & Ride Lots
- Premium fares apply for the post-game P&R special service. Pay when exiting the coach at the Park & Ride Lot.
- Special P&R service buses leave from their designated Safeco Field stops shown on the map. Check the signage on the bus before boarding.
- Buses depart as they fill and cannot be held.
- The last special P&R service buses leave Safeco Field 20 minutes after the end of the game.

Weekend and Holiday Mariners games
Pre- and Post-game service
- See the Park & Ride list below to select a park and ride lot near you for premiun pre- and post-game service.
- Look for buses at P&Rs signed 'SAFECO FIELD.'
- Premium service buses start leaving from the Federal Way & Kent locations approximately 1 hour & 50 minutes to 2 hours before the game's scheduled start time.
- Premium service buses start leaving all other designated P&Rs approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes to 2 hours & 30 minutes before the game's scheduled start time.
- Premium service buses operate approximately every 30 minutes until about 45 minutes before game time, and depart when they are full.
- Times given are approximate; departures may be affected by traffic and other factors.
- The last special service P&R buses leave Safeco Field 20 minutes after the end of the game.
- Fans are also encouraged to check for regular service at P&Rs
- Premium fares apply:
- Pay when boarding the coach on pre-game trips.
- Pay when exiting the coach on post-game trips.

At all Park and Ride Lots and Transit Centers, please park legally in designated spaces only, and abide by all posted instructions. Illegally parked vehicles are subject to being towed by and according to the ordinances of the local jurisdiction.

Mariners premium service for the Northgate P&R & Northgate Transit Center
Pre-Game - Weekend games & Holiday games only
- The Northgate premium pre-game service bus
- Serves the bus stop outside the Northgate P&R southbound on 5th Ave NE;
- Does not enter the P&R lot, and makes no other stops on 5th Ave NE;
- Serves Bay 5 at Northgate Transit Center.
- Weekend and Holiday pre-game trips do not serve the southbound stop on the NE 45th St ramp to I-5;
Post-Game - All games except Weekday games that start prior to 5:00 PM
- Board the 'Northgate' premium service bus northbound on Occidental Ave S just south of Edgar Martinez Dr S on the south end of Safeco Field.
- The Northgate premium service bus
- Serves the bus stop on the I-5 ramp northbound on 7th Ave NE at NE 45th St on post-game trips only.
- Serves Bay 2 at Northgate Transit Center.
- Serves the northbound bus stop across 5th Ave NE from the Northgate P&R.
- Does not enter the P&R lot.
- Makes no other stops

Mariners premium service for the South Kirkland P&R Lot
Pre-Game - Weekend games & Holiday games only
- Board the premium pre-game service bus inside the S Kirkland P&R.
- The bus makes no stops between the South Kirkland P&R and Safeco Field.
Post-Game - All games except Weekday games that start prior to 5:00 PM
- Board the 'S Kirkland' post-game premium service bus northbound on 1st Avenue S just north of S Massachusetts St, about one block south of Safeco Field.
- The bus makes no stops between Safeco Field and the S Kirkland P&R lot.

Pre-Game - Weekend games & Holiday games only
- The Eastgate pre-game premium service bus serves only the Eastgate P&R (west of Bay 1) & the S Bellevue P&R
- *There is no pre-game service from the Mercer Island P&R. Ride regularly scheduled transit service to games.
Post-game - All games except Weekday games that start prior to 5:00 PM
- Board the 'Eastgate' post-game premium service bus northbound on 1st Avenue S just south of Edgar Martinez Dr S, in the block just south of Safeco Field.
- The Eastgate bus serves the *Mercer Island, S Bellevue & Eastgate P&Rs only; no other stops made.

Pre-Game - Weekend games & Holiday games only
- The Federal Way premium pre-game service bus
- Serves Bay 2 in the Federal Way/S 320th St P&R.
- Serves Bay 8 in the Federal Way Transit Center.
- Stops inside the Star Lake P&R.
- Serves the Freeway Station on the northbound I-5 on-ramp at Kent/Des Moines Road, just west of the Kent/Des Moines P&R. It does not enter the P&R on pre-game trips.
- Makes no other stops.
Post-game - All games except Weekday games that start prior to 5:00 PM
- Board the 'Federal Way' post-game premium service bus eastbound on S Royal Brougham Way between 1st Ave S & Occidental Ave S, on the north end of Safeco Field.
- The Federal Way bus
- Stops inside the Kent/Des Moines P&R on post-game trips only.
- Serves the Freeway Station on the southbound I-5 ramp just north of S 272nd St, on the east side of the Star Lake P&R. It does not enter the P&R on post-game trips.
- Serves Bay 8 at the Federal Way Transit Center.
- Serves Bay 3 in the Federal Way/S 320th St P&R.
- Makes no other stops.

Pre-Game - Weekend games & Holiday games only
- The Kent pre-game premium service bus
- Serves the *Kent Station Bay 9, southbound on Railroad Ave.
- Serves the Kent P&R, eastbound on James St just east of Lincoln Ave.
- Serves Bay 2, eastbound inside the South Renton P&R.
- Stops northbound on Interurban Ave S at 52nd Ave S just outside the Tukwila P&R, and just south of the entrance to northbound I-5.
- Makes no other stops.
* The Kent Station parking garage hours are: M-F 5:00AM-2:30AM and Sat, Sun & holidays 6:30AM-2:30AM. There are more than 200 surface parking stalls in the lot adjacent to Kent Station.
Post-game - All games except Weekday games that start prior to 5:00 PM
- Board the 'Kent' post-game premium service bus eastbound on S Royal Brougham Way between 1st Ave S & Occidental Ave S, on the north end of Safeco Field.
- The Kent bus
- Stops southbound on Interurban Ave at 52nd Ave S at Tukwila P&R Bay 2.
- Stops westbound in the South Renton P&R at Bay 1.
- Stops eastbound on James St just east of Lincoln Ave at the Kent P&R.
- Stops at the Kent Station Bay 9, southbound on Railroad Ave.

Post-game Express service to Downtown Seattle
Post-game only - All games except Weekday games that start prior to 5:00 PM
- Board the 'Downtown Express' northbound on 1st Ave S just south of S Royal Brougham Way.
- Pay $1.00 fare on the Downtown Express special service bus.
- The Downtown Express
- Travels non-stop via the Alaskan Way Viaduct to northbound 5th Avenue at University Street.
- Travels east on Pike Street, then south through town on 5th Avenue.
- Makes all stops upon request along 5th Avenue.

Premium P&R service fares
- $3.00 one-way, cash-only fare for rides on Metro's Mariners special P&R service
- For all riders Weekdays and Saturdays
- For riders through age 64 on Sundays
- On Sundays, Seniors aged 65 and older ride for $1.00 cash fare each way.
- A Senior Citizen reduced fare permit may be requested for proof of age.
- At all other times, Seniors pay $3.00 each way.
- Up to two children aged 5 and younger may ride free with a fare-paying adult at any time.
- Additional children pay $3.00 each way.
- The Visitors Pass is accepted on the Mariners premium P&R service, all other passes and transfers are not accepted or issued on Mariners special service at any time.
- $1.00 cash-only fare for the post-game Downtown Seattle Express.

Sounder Home Run Service
Sounder Home Run Service will operate from Tacoma Dome Station and the Everett Station to King Street Station for 2008 Saturday and Sunday games with a 1:05 p.m. start time:

Security Information
- No large backpacks or bags are allowed into Safeco Field. The Mariners do not issue claim checks for bags. See the Mariners web site [external link] for further information.
- Personal belongings cannot be left on Metro buses.
