For Teachers

The National Marine Sanctuary Program aims to provide teachers with resources and training to support ocean literacy in America's classrooms. You will find curriculum, lesson plans, and activities that will excite your students about science and technology.

California B-WET Grants Available

The NOAA California Bay Watershed Education and Training (B-WET) Program is announcing the availability of funds for the 2009/2010 fiscal year. Priorities for funding are Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences for students (K-12) and Professional Development for teachers (K-12). Download the complete funding announcement.

Ocean Guardian Schools
Promote ocean conservation at your school or in your local community by becoming an Ocean Guardian School and apply for funding to implement your conservation project.

The NOAA Ocean Data Education (NODE) Project is developing curriculum for grades 5-8 designed to help teachers and students use real scientific data to explore dynamic Earth processes and understand the impact of environmental events on a regional or global scale.
Did you know NOAA provides funds for innovative outdoor education programs in Chesapeake Bay, the Hawaiian Islands, Channel Islands, Gulf of the Farallones, Monterey Bay and Cordell Bank watersheds? If you are an educator in those areas who has developed a curriculum that aims to improve students’ understanding of environmental stewardship by using the surrounding landscape as a living classroom, apply for a B-WET grant.
