Certain technologies identified by DOE have been categorized as sensitive. In addition the Laboratory has identified technologies that may be considered sensitive. Access by a foreign national may require an export license prior to release of any aspects of the listed technologies. A visit or assignment involving a subject on the DOE Sensitive Subjects list or the ANL Sensitive Technologies list must be noted as such on the ANL-593 application form — whether or not the host expects sensitive information to be transferred — so it can be reviewed for export control as well as counterintelligence concerns.
