Aquaculture

  • NOAA Aquaculture - In addition to responding to information requests, the Center also provides subject and issue bibliographies, links to educational resources, and financial and statistical information on aquaculture. Coordinating with the NOAA Aquaculture Program, the site provides summary results and photos of National Marine Aquaculture Initiative grant awards beginning in 1999 to those currently available. Reports and results of other NOAA initiated meetings and workshops are also posted.

  • China - Extensive information on aquaculture in China can be found at this Web site and is the result of a cooperative Sino-U.S. Joint Coordination Panel agreement.

  • Japan - NOAA and the Japanese National Research Institute of Aquaculture have been working together since 1971 to enhance the development of freshwater and marine aquaculture. This Panel bridges communication between the scientific communities of these two countries facilitating development of various aquaculture techniques. Beginning with the first meeting in 1971, information on Panel activities, accomplishments, and statements is available.

  • Korea - This site is one result of the arrangement for Scientific and Technical Cooperation in Integrated Coastal and Ocean Resources Management signed in 2000 between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States of America and the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Korea. This web site is hosted at the NOAA Central Library and developed through the efforts of experts from the National Fisheries Research and Development Institute (NFRDI) under the Korea Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (MOMAF).
