The International Year of the Reef 2008
As Co-Chair of the U.S. Coral Reef Task Force, NOAA is taking an active role in the International Year of the Reef 2008 (IYOR 2008). The IYOR 2008 was declared by the International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI), of which the United States hosts the join Secretariat with Mexico. The following congressional policy briefs provide an overview of IYOR 2008, the Task Force, and the work that NOAA, and other agencies, do to protect these vital ecosystems.
