13. What kind of side effects can I expect from an antidepressant?

The most common side effects that antidepressant medications can cause are headache, nausea, insomnia or nervousness, agitation or a jittery feeling, and sexual problems. Often, the side effects are mild and temporary. However, if you have any unusual reactions or side effects that interfere with your normal functioning, you should report them to your doctor immediately. (Answer continues on next page.)
