Researcher Elizabeth Lewis of Mass General Hospital for Children says more than 650,000 doctors’ visits could be prevented each year if kids ages six months to 5 years got a flu shot that was only 50 percent effective.

"If we assume that the influenza vaccine is 50 percent, or half, efficacious – which is a very small estimate – upwards of 650,000 doctors’ visits could be prevented per year." (14 seconds)
