Deaf-Blind Services

Deaf-Blind Services assist individuals who are experiencing both hearing loss and vision loss. SBVI provides specialized deaf-blind services to current consumers by utilizing a deaf-blind specialist who is specifically trained in this area.

Eligibility Requirements:

Any South Dakota youth or adult who is experiencing difficulties in life because of the combination of a vision and hearing loss may be helped.

Services Available:

Training in daily living skills, communication, mobility and assistive devices is available. Additional services include interpreting, advocacy, job seeking assistance and adjustment counseling.
