Colorado Carbon Fund

The Colorado Carbon Fund, a voluntary carbon offset program, is being established by the Governor's Energy Office (GEO) to advance the following objectives:

  • Develop a funding source for community-based clean energy and climate mitigation projects
  • Direct investment monies towards CO-based projects
  • Support Colorado’s climate change mitigation objectives
  • Provide high quality, credible offsets for individuals, businesses and government agencies interested in mitigating their carbon footprint

In developing this program, GEO seeks to partner with:

  • Communities interested in supporting local clean energy and climate mitigation projects
  • Individuals and organizations interested in purchasing offsets
  • Developers and financiers of offset projects
  • Brokers and aggregators of offsets

GEO anticipates this program to be up and running by late spring 2008. Please check back for updates.

The Colorado Carbon Fund program is currently accepting carbon offset project ideas. Parties that would like to communicate a project for partnership consideration are invited to submit a program interest form. The Interest Form can be found on the Partnership Opportunites page of this website.
